Cradle of Western Civilization
Athens is a kaleidoscopic city, where the modern urbanization is under construction on the top of ancient ruins. It is also a fairy-tale city, where Greek mythology and historical reality entwine. When I visited this city, it was late November but the weather was surprisingly pleasant. No swarm of tourists. No sweating heat. Only I wandered through narrow alleys in my own pace.

Acropolis
The temples on the Acropolis Rock of Athens have exerted more influence on Western architecture than anything since. Those masterpieces were constructed during the late 5th-century BC. Most were built to honor Athena, the city's patron goddess.
